I do enjoy a nice Rhone wine, and this one didn’t disappoint. I opened the bottle and poured a tasting, noting a number of wonderful aromas with a swirl or two. The raspberry and blackberry aromas were very nice, with no overwhelming alcohol bite. It smelled lush, and those aromas were confirmed with the first taste. The taste was indeed silky and very well balanced. Very round and quite pleasant. The finish was quite nice, leaving me with just a hint of minerality and very light spice. I will tell you that I didn’t have this wine with dinner, although I can imagine it pairing quite well with any number of dishes, but I did enjoy it with a little dark chocolate, and the combination was delightful, and one you’ll want to enjoy for yourself.
